The proverb “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” is addressing the health effects of apples. Research suggests that apples may reduce the risk of colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer. Apples are a rich source of antioxidant compounds. Apples may also help with heart disease, weight loss, and controlling cholesterol. It has also been suggested by Cornell University researchers that a group of chemicals found in apples protects brain cells against neuro-degenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinsonism Diseases.
Try to eat only organic fruits without pesticides (especially without synthetic chemicals which are used by farmers to protect the surfaces of the fruits).
Generally be careful not to eat too much synthetic chemicals. Look for organic foods. Organic foods are foods that are produced using methods that do not involve synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers, do not contain genetically modified organisms, and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives.
