Childhood Obesity Associated with Serious Heart Problems
Obese children have a host of heart problems, according to a new study published by the American College of Cardiology. Researchers assessed the size of 61 obese children’s hearts and compared them with 40 nonobese children’s measurements. The obese children had enlarged and thickened hearts, as well as elevated LDL “bad” cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
