Diet yang sehat dapat mengurangi risiko penurunan kognitif, menurut sebuah penelitian yang diterbitkan dalam Neurology. Peneliti menganalisis catatan diet dan tes kesehatan kognitif dari 27.860 laki-laki dan perempuan sebagai bagian dari ONTARGET (Ongoing Telmisartan Alone and in Combination with Ramipril Global Endpoint Trial) dan TRANSCEND (Telmisartan Randomised Assessment Study in ACE Intolerant Subjects with Cardiovascular Disease) studi. Mereka yang mengkonsumsi buah-buahan, sayuran, dan biji-bijian memiliki risiko terendah untuk penurunan kognitif setelah periode observasi 56 bulan. Penelitian ini berharap untuk menjelaskan lebih lanjut tentang potensi diet untuk mengekang penurunan kognitif.

Healthy Eating Reduces Cognitive Decline

A healthful diet may reduce your risk for cognitive decline, according to a study published in Neurology. Researchers analyzed diet records and cognitive health tests from 27,860 men and women as part of the ONTARGET (Ongoing Telmisartan Alone and in Combination with Ramipril Global Endpoint Trial) and TRANSCEND (Telmisartan Randomised Assessment Study in ACE Intolerant Subjects with Cardiovascular Disease) studies. Those who consumed the most fruits, vegetables, and whole grains had the lowest risk for cognitive decline after a 56-month observation period. This study hopes to shed more light on diet’s potential to curb cognitive decline.
